Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Comprehensive tension relief

Deep tissue massage employs advanced techniques aimed at repairing the body's deeper muscle and fascia also known as the connective tissue. The massage movements are similar to those used in Swedish massage but with greater pressure and more intensity.

These movements combine to help reduce muscle tension caused by deeply contracted muscle fibre or ‘knots.' The ‘knots’ are the result of a build-up of waste products accumulated through injury, fatigue and overwork, and are usually very sensitive to touch. Through a process of carefully applied deep tissue strokes using the fingers, thumbs, knuckles, forearms and palms, the therapist can help lengthen the contracted and injured muscles and fascia and restore the body's natural harmony and balance. Because of its nature, a deep tissue massage is likely, at times, to be a little more intense than a typical massage, but when done correctly should never be too uncomfortable being in a holistic approach.
